Ryan Cayabyab Goes with Lorenzo The Musical

By 6:00 AM ,

I grew up and heard Ryan Cayabyab music with his contemporary and ballad arrangements. When it comes to theater production, one of the musical plays with Mr. C's music arrangement I saw or at least got to be part of the production were Birhen ng Caysaysay and Katy.

Now, Ryan Cayabyab is again back for another musical called LORENZO.

“Lorenzo" is about an OFW awaiting execution in the Middle East who, while in prison, creates a theater production based on the life of the first Filipino saint, San Lorenzo Ruiz.

The musical narrates the strange events surrounding Lorenzo Ruiz, a parish assistant in the Church of Binondo, who finds himself a fugitive after killing a Spaniard. The parish priest helps him escape, and Ruiz accidentally joins a group of merchants en route to Japan, where he is pursued by malas (bad luck), ending up with a group of persecuted missionaries.
